Working meeting on migration and asylum situation in Zakarpattya region PDF Print E-mail

April 29, 2010 at the initiative of Charity Foundation “Карітас-Caritas” of Mukachevo Greek Catholic diocese was organized working meeting on asylum and migration in the Zakarpattya region. The meeting was attended by the International Organization for Migration Mission in Ukraine (Klaus Wolken), Regional Representative of the High Commissioner for Refugees in Belarus, Moldova and Ukraine (Armen Edharyan), International Foundation of Health and Environment (NEEKA), Charitable organization "Committee of medical care in Zakarpattya (Natalia Kabatsy), Administration of State Border Service of Ukraine (Borys Marchenko) and Department of migration service region (Mikola Tovt).

After working meeting everyone arrived to Chop border detachment to visit temporary holding facility and speek with detained migrants detained in THF. Members of the working meeting could see the special premise that was renovated in September-December 2009 with the support of the International Organization for Migration and the Committee of health care in Zakarpattya. After repair has improved conditions of detention of migrants, the separate lounge, also a special room added a separate room in which migrants can comfortably eat, improved sanitary conditions. Also, all visitors have the opportunity to talk with detained migrants about conditions of detention and other problems.
